The trip to the Capanna Margherita is for everyone who has a decent fitness level and knows how to tackle climbs of 4/6 hours. The trip does not involve any particular technical difficulties. There are no exposed points or rocks to surpass; what it is, is a long trek in the snow using rope, because it crosses large areas where there are crevasses
The trip can be done from late June to mid-September. The best time is usually the last weeks of July and the first 10 days of August. But since the tour is at a high altitude (you reach 4554 m) it is difficult to say which would be the ideal period, because the conditions depend on the weather and the situation of the glacier. The proper way to deal with this trip is to indicate a time frame and choose most suitable date and day with the best conditions.
The trip to Capanna Margherita can be done in 2, 3 or more days. The slower the pace, the more acclimatization is guaranteed and thus the success of the tour.
