Alagna: Walser village, stones, wood, snow and beautifoul mountains; our ancestors restricted themselves to look at them from the bottom, going at least to some mountain pasture and only in summer, but they weren’t people who give up or with no dreams, they were building the base that today, 600 years later, give us the canche to reach the top, whenever we want.
The story of the slopes start with a small (and now old) cableway that brought to Belvedere Hotel , than it was built the legendary lift that brought to indren peak and today, 70 years later, who comes to Alagna can take the lift that brings to Pianalunga (2046 msl) to find himself in the freeride world. Now he can choose: he can take the chairlift and go to Bocchetta ora take the funifor, with a load of 100 people, increased by new chairlift Alagna 3030, and get nearer to the top at Passo Dei Salati (2980 msl) from which you can access to the Monterosa Ski Area
( more than 200km of slopes) or go to Indren, starting place of hikings on the gracier going to Margherita Hut and of our well-known freeride area where begin the challenge with the mountains!
I’m not going to write much more because now it’s your turn to discover evry corner and every gift that our slopes give
Hope you will enjoy it!

Protective helmet
The regulations on the use of helmets on the ski slopes are part of a regulatory process that began several years ago.
The basic reference is Legislative Decree No. 40 of 28 February 2021, which introduced specific rules on safety in winter sports. In that context, Article 17 established the obligation to wear a protective helmet for persons under the age of 18 practising alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemark skiing, sledging or tobogganing on equipped ski areas.
With the entry into force of the amendments introduced by Decree-Law 96/2025, the 2025/26 season marks a turning point.
The requirement to wear a protective helmet is extended to all users of equipped ski areas, regardless of age.
This means that skiers and snowboarders, young people and adults alike, are now subject to the same rule.
The measure is national and uniform: ski lift and ski area operators had to comply with the new regulations by 30 June 2025.
Failure to comply with the requirement will result in administrative penalties — in many cases between £100 and £150 — and, in the event of a repeat offence, the suspension or withdrawal of the ski pass for a period ranging from one to three days.
For those planning a skiing holiday in the Monte Rosa ski area, the rule is simple: make sure you have an approved helmet in good condition and wear it every time you hit the slopes. If you don't have one, check that the rental service includes it or get one before you arrive.
