Program

1st day

Take the Gressoney or Alagna lifts to the Passo dei Salati. Meet the guide at the Passo dei Salati at 2:30 PM for a detailed equipment check and distribution of technical gear. We will then reach Punta Indren via the Monterosa Ski lifts and continue to the Gnifetti Hut (3647 m), which we will reach after approximately 1.5 hours of glacier trekking. Dinner and overnight stay.

2nd day

We will start early in the morning for the ascent of Punta Parrot and its beautiful snowy ridge, a prominent feature of the Alagna skyline (4435 m), which we will reach in about 3 hours. After a brief photo stop, we will descend to the Colle Sesia and then ascend the Ludwigshöhe (4342 m), which we will reach in about 1 hour. We will then descend to the Colle Zurbriggen before climbing the Corno Nero, a striking summit at 4321 m, where we will traverse the short but thrilling final black rock ridge. The descent will lead us past the Balmenhorn rocks with the iconic statue of the Cristo delle Vette, before returning to Punta Indren.

Good Physical Conditioning is Required

Mountaineering is inherently a dangerous activity; the guides of Monte Rosa, all UIAGM certified, commit to minimizing potential risks, but complete risk elimination is not possible. Being aware of this condition and accepting it is necessary before signing up for our activities.

The Monte Rosa Guides will always give their utmost to assist you in achieving your goals and ensuring the best possible experience. However, it is crucial to accept reliance on their unquestionable judgment during mountain excursions and to respect the decisions made, including a potential return if deemed necessary. Adequate preparation and a good level of physical fitness are required to maintain an adequate safety margin in our activities. If, due to physical conditions or any other reason, the guide believes you are not ready for the chosen activity, alternative options suitable for your level of preparedness will be proposed.
