Alagna – Merletti hamlet

Just beyond the Hotels square, take the bridge over the Sesia river that leads to the Z'am Tachji area. From here, ascend towards the mountain through the meadows to reach the Ponte hamlet and then the Pedemonte hamlet, where the Walser Ethnographic Museum is located. Passing by the oratory dedicated to San Nicolao, descend on the asphalt road for a few meters and cross a bridge that leads to the Uterio hamlet. From here, take the trail that starts behind the two ancient mill structures to reach the Wold area and, beyond the Sesia river, the Merletti hamlet. Return directly on the asphalt road with a loop path that brings you back to the center in a few minutes.

Alagna – Riva Valdobbia

Start from Alagna, following the course of the Sesia river downhill until you reach the bridge on the left. Cross it, staying on the left side of the river. Here, the dirt road gently descends to the Balma hamlet, where you'll see the junction for the Piana Fuseria hamlet on the left. Continue straight and upon reaching the Gabbio hamlet, cross the iron bridge that leads to the Sesietta area. After crossing the provincial road, you can take the trail ahead that leads to the center of Riva Valdobbia, or turn right onto the provincial road towards Alagna and enter Riva Valdobbia at the road junction. Return along the same path or along the provincial road.

Riva Valdobbia – Alagna

Start: 1112 meters above sea level End: 1191 meters above sea level Elevation gain: 79 meters Difficulty: easy and short Travel time: 20 minutes one way Start from the square of Riva Valdobbia in the north direction. At the junction with the provincial road to Alagna, turn right until you reach the Severina sports center (Lo Chalet area), where you turn left and cross the bridge to the Gabbio hamlet. From here, turn right along the Sesia river, passing by the Balma hamlet, and continue straight towards Alagna, which you reach by crossing the last bridge.
