The book 'L'Ospizio del canonico' recounts an important piece of Valsesia's history, linked to the anniversary of the two hundredth anniversary, in 1823, of the refuge founded by the canon Nicolao Sottile on the Valdobbia pass, 2500 metres, between Valsesia and Val d'Aosta. The Ospizio Sottile is not an alpine hut like the others, centred above all on hiking and mountaineering activities; instead, it is the centre of intense mountain events spanning two centuries.
